Mrs Otti reiterates strong commitment to protecting welfare, dignity of vulnerable citizens in Abia.

The wife of Abia State Governor ,Mrs Priscilla Chidinma Otti has reiterated the state government strong commitment to protecting the welfare and dignity of vulnerable citizens across the state.

Abia First lady, Mrs Priscilla Chidinma made this assurance was delivered during her humanitarian visits to the Amaudo Mental Health Facility in Itumbauzo and the Uzuakoli Leprosy Settlement.

The wife of Abia state Governor,Mrs Priscilla Chidinma Otti represented by the Commissioner for Women Affairs,Dr Maureen Aghukwa while addressing residents during a church service at the Amaudo Mental Health Facility who conveyed the goodwill, compassion, and motherly concern of Her Excellency, assuring them that they remain an important part of the government’s social responsibility agenda.

She explained that the present administration is guided by values of empathy, inclusion, and respect for the dignity of every human person, stressing that governance must reach beyond urban centres and political offices to embrace those in special care institutions.

According to her, the distribution of food items and essential supplies was part of the government’s broader effort to ensure that vulnerable populations feel supported and valued. She also drew attention to the ongoing construction of the access road leading to the facility, describing it as a long-overdue intervention that reflects the administration’s responsiveness to genuine needs.

The Very Reverend Ken Nwaubani, who presided over the church service and received the donated items, thanked Governor Alex C. Otti and his wife for their consistent concern for the facility. He noted that the road project, in particular, has eased years of hardship and restored a sense of dignity to residents and caregivers alike, offering prayers for the leadership of the state.

The delegation later proceeded to the Uzuakoli Leprosy Settlement, where similar humanitarian support was extended to residents.

While addressing the settlement, Dr. Aghukwa reaffirmed that the current administration remains focused on rebuilding Abia through targeted investments in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and social welfare, adding that no group would be excluded from the benefits of governance.

Receiving the delegation, the Reverend Emeka expressed appreciation to the Governor and his wife, describing the visit as a moment of reassurance and renewed hope. He commended the administration for demonstrating that leadership can be compassionate and responsive, especially to those living on the margins of society.

The visit concluded with prayers for Governor Alex C. Otti and Her Excellency, Mrs. Priscilla Chidinma Otti, as beneficiaries received the items with gratitude, describing the outreach as a clear demonstration that humane and inclusive governance is taking firm root in Abia State.
