The Deputy Chief of Staff in the office of the Governor of Abia ,Hon Chinedu Ekeke has said that the feelers he is getting is that people are now happy that they have seen true leadership in the last one year administration of Governor Alex Otti.
Answering questions from journalists in his office,last Thursday,at Government House, Umuahia on his views on one year in office of Governor Alex Otti,he says that you may have heard that everything right falls around leadership,that leadership is a high calling , and that he knew the governor for a very long time,that he represents ideal leader, that in leadership,you need to understand the whole objective of leadership
What is the entire essence of leadership,so leadership is not about worshipping person,or with the exclamation,do you know who we are?, oh! you are the person, leadership is about people,about human beings and this governor has perfectly exemplified that quality of leadership.
“And that is why anytime I talk about it and I said go out of the streets and ask people,you are media men,you are journalists,that is the views,what are the feelers you are getting across the three Senatorial zones in the State?
To this end,he noted that the feelers he is getting is that the people now feel happy that they have seen true leadership in the last one year of his administration and hopeful that with what they have witnessed within one year will continue and even get better.
The Deputy Chief of Staff who also doubles as the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor on Youths and Sports Development however challenged journalists to go out to the streets as mirrors of the society to ascertain the views of Abians on the performance appraisal of the Labour Party controlled Government under Gov Alex Otti ‘s watch,noting that the feelers he is getting is that people are now really happy that they have seen true leadership that are people -centred in the first one year of this administration.
“From where I stand,the feelings I have been getting is that people are now happy that they seen true leadership in the last one year and still hopeful that they have witnessed in the last one year will continue and even get better.,that is the feedback that I have been getting”.
The Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor pointed out that people from World Bank will call and said that some of the pot holes that been there for years have been fixed,others will call from Low Cost Housing Estate will say that the some roads have been fixed and some of the port holes closed
,even in my village in so so part of the state,the roads were being awarded,the contractors are working.
So in health, in education,in different segments of the state economy,there is this revival,there is this revitalization and when you look around the cities, Umuahia and Aba,there are increase in activities around the cities because now every 28th of every month,workers receive their salaries,they can plan their lives based on their earnings,.
Pensioners are happy,they are being paid,last month,they received their hundred percent pensions and their outstanding were cleared,then you look at the character and the essential nature of the driver of this style of leadership,you know that he is not stopping, this is essentially who he is, this is not clout chasing,this is not him looking for praises, essentially,this is who he is,so I can confidently tell you that in the next one year,Abia will be better,the next two years,the state will be a lot better ,i can assure you that Abians are in for a beautiful ride in the next three years .
