How Gov Otti is scoring firsts in all fronts,compounding woes of his detractors.

In the next two months, precisely,29th May,2025, His Excellency, Dr Alex Chioma Otti (OFR,)the Executive Governor of Abia State will be two years in office.

On the said date, would certainly provide an opportunity for Abians and citizenry to take appraisal of his performance,two years,after assumption of office as the fifth Executive Governor of Abia, God’s own state.

Nonetheless,even before May 29th,2025,which is just two months and some days away from now,,just in less than two years in office,the ex-banker turned politician cum Chief Executive officer has not kept anyone in doubt judging from the giant strides recorded so far by his administration that he indeed came , prepared for the onerous task of governing Abia State to make it a model state, worthy of emulation.

Avalanche of testimonies abound in diverse areas of governance that the worker’s friendly governor is churning out developmental strides scattered in all nooks and crannies of the state, attested to by all and sundry.

Based on his people -oriented governance,it has been commendation galores as majority of Abians and Nigerians are of the opinion that Governor Alex Otti has performed beyond expectations.

Observers cited a feat recorded so far noting that not
less than two years he assumed power,that his performance appraisal are daily and gradually compounding the emotional trauma and psychological woes of his detractors and other political opponents that his would make it extremely difficult for his would be contenders in the emerging political dispensation to unseat him come 2027

Without doubt, Gov Alex Otti has been scoring firsts in all fronts,in all sectors of the state economy in that Abians excited with current turn of events,seeing a new Abia of their dreams which eluded the state in the past are now singing his praises that” Daniel has finally come to judgement ”
Abia has not had it so good like this before,this seems to be a repeated refrain by political watchers of events as they unfold in God’s own state.

Even the die- hard critics of this present government cannot help but accept the obvious reality that Governor Alex Otti is scoring firsts in all fronts,that Abia has not seen it this good before since the creation of the state in 1991.

Few examples would suffice here: From regular payment of salaries to Abia workers and retirees,to upward review of monthly stipends paid to the traditional rulers in the state,to from onset,declaring of state of emergency in areas of environmental sanitation, security, education and health,to massive infrastructural developments,to ease of doing business in Abia, through provisions of enabling environment for businesses to thrive, through promotion of made in Abia goods and services.

In addition,his penchant to revived the hitherto ailing industries such as Modern Ceramics, Umuahia, Aba Textile Mills, Aba Paper mills,Ogwe Golden chickens etc in order to promote commerce and industries in the state.

Under the watch of His Excellency, Governor Alex Otti, sporting activities is also given impetus just as he is also promoting tourism,the government has vowed to recover 56 tourists sites and make them centre of attraction for the tourists,this is just to underscore the fact that he came fully prepared to deliver the goods .

Just few days ago,Gov Otti flagged off The Digital transformation of Abia into the digital world to promote ease of governance and communication between and amongst the people in the state.

The list of what Governor Alex Otti is doing to change the poor narratives of the state that he met is is endless, suffice it to say that without fear of contradiction that Governor Alex Otti is actually scoring firsts in all key areas of the economy no matter the parameters used in measuring success,his name is now synonymous with projects execution.

Fascinated with lofty heights,Abians and citizenry including our people in diaspora are today pouring encomium stressing that
the good work of Umuelem Nvosi born number one citizen is doing in the state to redefine governance is unprecedented in the history of the state.

It is therefore instructive to note that commendation galores of our performing governor goes beyond party lines,even those in opposition have also joined in appreciating good work of a man who came,saw and delivering from all fronts to delight of everyone who cherishes good thing.

Interestingly enough,party chieftains such as Senator Adolf Wabara, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Senator Chris Adighije, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa,Dr Eme Okoro belonging to other political parties such as : PDP, APC , APGA etc other than Labour Party are moved with their patriotic disposition to extol Abia Governor in his quest to change the poor narratives of Abia better than he met it.

From their enviable positions and accomplishments,they cannot hid the truth that Gov Otti is performing wonders despite coming from different political parties,but as elder statesmen ,they are encouraging the workolhic governor to keep the good work going, praising him for the massive infrastructural developments taken place in the three Senatorial Districts of Abia State.

Without doubt,Gov Otti is indeed scoring firsts in all sectors of the economy. Two weeks ago,I led a team of press men( six journalists )on investigation at Abiriba,lo and behold,what we saw ,the beautiful well reconstructed road network marvelled us,the hitherto deplorable road from Ubani Ibeku Market axis to Uzuakoli,down to Akara junction leading to Alayi,Igbere up to Abiriba junction are now a beauty to behold.

As a matter of fact,through out the journey to Abiriba and back to Umuahia,the smooth motorable ride, road now with big gutters both sides of road dominated our discourse,as colleagues were full of praises to Gov Otti for finally fixing up the road that remained death trap before the intervention of labour party governor.

Our colleagues had querried why Abians from Abia North will not vote Otti en masse come 2027 given the ease with which they will now travel from Umuahia to Ohafia spending less time too unlike before with emphasis on solid road reconstruction.

They also asked the efforts of the people’s representatives from Abia North that saw how deplorable the road was before Otti’s intervention,even remedial work done that failed to last the veritable test of time due to poor quality work.

Journalists on the said trip questioned the rationale behind the criticisms of PDP state Chairman,Mr Abraham Amah whose party could not fix the road when they held sway in the state but always criticizing Otti’s government subjectively.

They however commended Governor Alex Otti for living up to expectations of his electioneering campaigns promises while stating that it will be pretty difficult to defeat him when the chips are down in 2027 because his good works will speak for him and definitely stands him out.

This was the same road that had differed any possible solutions before” Mr Project” came on board as the fifth Executive Governor of Abia State to fix it .

Meanwhile,the former president of Federal Republic of Nigeria,Dr Olusegun Obasanjo has been invited to officially commissioned the road on April 2,2025.

Gov Otti has also replicated these massive infrastructural developments in road construction and reconstruction in all the seventeen local government areas of Abia State,he has renovated and retrofitted dilapidated primary and secondary school buildings,hospitals, health centres across the three Senatorial Districts in the state.

It was on record that when Gov Otti came on board,he declared a state of emergency in security, environment, education and health sectors.

True to type, immediately on assumption of office,he swung into action, restored security,dismantled the hideouts of kidnappers and other criminal elements at Lokpanta in Umunneochi LGA of Abia State through the security outfit codenamed” Operation Crunch”

Beyond pockets of crimes skeletally heard , Abians and citizens wherever they reside,can today sleep with their two eyes close,they no longer live in fears of hitherto rampaging kidnappers and criminal elements operating freely before this government came to power.

To this end,Abians applaud this bold attempt of Gov Otti stamping out violent crimes and criminality in the state.

Another area worthy of note that Otti scored first is the area of environmental sanitation. Before May 29,2023, the immediate past Government of PDP never cared a hoot or cared little ,the dirty nature of Abia State that made,a prominent billionaire politician from Anambra state,Author Eze said that Abia stinks when he visited the state during the previous administrations.

But alas, through the determined efforts of Gov Alex Otti make Abia one of the cleanliness state in Nigeria, from day one,empowered Asepa to cart away debris of rubbish that was common phenomenon the state was hitherto recognized, today Abia ranks one of the most cleanliness states in Nigeria as envisaged by our action governor.

To lend credence to the above,when the former first lady of Nigeria,Mrs Patience Good luck Jonathan visited Abia recently, during a courtesy call , commended Governor Alex Otti on how clean the state is looking, saying,Abia no longer stinks.

Indeed,these infrastructural developments have opened up Abia as investor’s destination to transact business, given avalanche of foreign investors visiting Abia to do one business or the other with the state government. Kudos to the enabling environment provided by our visionary governor.

Recall that many investors left the state as a result of insecurity and lack of visible business environment before May 29,2023, all these are now things of the past, courtesy of the good work the globally acknowledged performing governor Otti is doing in God’s own state.

But with the good work of Gov Alex Otti is doing in Abia State,
is keeping his detractors dumb has no doubt founded through his signature projects springing up here and there.

One wonders what the opposition parties would hold on against the incumbent governor that would make Abians to turn their back to a governor who has restored the dignity of the state and is making things happen.
