FUHSO VC chieftaincy installation:  Chief Sir Ibe Obioma lauds Eze GC Ibeakanma,describes it as honour well deserved.

Last Saturday,29th April,2024, HRM Eze G C Ibeakanma, the traditional ruler of Ezeleke Autonomous community, Umuopara, Umuahia South LGA Abia State , the Eze’s in Council and the good people of Ezeleke conferred a befitting chieftaincy title to a prominent personality from Idoma land in Benue State. His name is Professor. Innocent Ujah, the Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo ,Benue State .

It was revealed that this detrabilized Nigeria,in a gesture that was rare given the Nigerian factor,had in the course of civil service work,met with one then Mr Iroham Ezerendu from Ezeleke Umuopara, Umuahia who according to the Benue born erudite Professor was a very loyal and dedicated staff.

Excited by this exceptional diligence in civil service by Ezerendu who then was a junior staff at Nigeria Institute of Medical Association,, the Chief Executive officer of NIMA,Prof Ujah encouraged and supported his University education, studied  law,on graduation as a lawyer,,he eventually employed him to work at the same Federal University.what a role model VC !

In appreciation, Chief Barr Iroham Ezerendu came back home to narrate this good testimonies to his people and their traditional ruler,Eze G C Ibeakanma who too was fascinated with the good story, decided to invite the  professor from Benue State for recognition so as to encourage him to do more as well serve as a good lesson for others.

On the said day, the people of Ezeleke Autonomous community Umuopara and their traditional ruler rolled out a red carpet in order to give honour to whom it is due, expectedly, this occasion was graced by eminent personalities who came to witness the chieftaincy installation. The roll call  included but not limited to the following : the Mayor of Umuahia South LGA,Barr Ejike Obike,Hon Chief Iheanacho Obioma ( Chomen) the Chief Medical Director of Federal Medical Centre FMC Umuahia,Prof Azubuike Onyebuchi,Engr Sir Onu Eluwa, the former Director General Anambra Imo River Basin Authority, Amachara Ezeleke born , Lagos based business mogul,Chief Sir Ibegbulem Emelogu Obioma, Chief and Lolo  Azuegeiro Obioma, Ezeleke Council of Chiefs members,Ambassador Ralph Ujah, Idoma,Benue,

Others were: HRH  Eze Paul Chukwunyere Egwu, Onyeogara 1 of Dikeukwu Ekenobizi, HRM Eze Nzenwata Mbakwe,the former first Vice Chairman, Abia State Council of traditional rulers and HRM Eze Ambassador Pastor Philip Ajomiwe, the former Chairman Umuahia North Council of traditional rulers.etc

Speaking at the occasion,the Chief Medical Director of Federal Medical Centre FMC Umuahia, Abia State,Prof Azubuike Onyebuchi described Professor Innocent Ujah as his senior professional colleague,mentor and boss who assisted him to be where he is today

He however extolled Eze G C Ibeakanma and his Council for the chieftaincy title given to his boss  from Idoma Land, promising to be fully involved in activities in Ezeleke because of the deserving honour bestowed on him.

Meanwhile, the public Relations Officer (PRO) of Umuopara Council of Chiefs was also there and as a journalist, covered the event.

He had an opportunity of speaking with array of dignitaries that were at the occasion including Chief Sir Ibe Obioma.

In an Exclusive interview with Chief Sir Ibegbulem Emelogu Obioma,the Amachara Umuokorodo Ezeleke born Lagos based business mogul bares his mind noting that the chieftaincy title bestowed on the Idoma Benue born erudite professor of Science and Vice Chancellor Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo, Fuhso,Benue State by HRM Eze GC Ibeakanma and the people of Ezeleke Autonomous community is an honour well deserved.

Chief Sir Ibe Obioma however lauded Eze Ibeakanma on the calibre of persons he is bestowing with chieftaincy titles, advised who may fall into temptations of conferring chieftaincy titles indiscriminately ( probably because of financial considerations) and other gifts should copy from this example from Ezeukwu because the institution is a respected one.

Knight of John Wesley also commended his brother Ezerendu for being a shinning example of loyalty and dedication at work place which paved the way for where he is today while calling on other Ezeleke youths to be good ambassadors of wherever they find themselves outside Igbo Land in order to replicate good virtues recorded by their brother, Ezerendu.

Well, I am highly impressed by the calibre of persons Eze G C Ibeakanma is bestowing with chieftaincy titles,I am not even one of his Chiefs,,they are still evaluating me whether I should be one of them,this honour is well deserved especially when this recognition is coming from our son who recommended his boss,mentor and benefactor, Professor Innocent Ujah, the Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo, FUHSO ,Benue State, who is not from this community, who is outside Igbo Land, our brother , Ezerendu told us how he was assisted by this erudite Professor,the honour is well with deserved.

As a respected Chief,what will be your message to those traditional rulers who may be conferring chieftaincy titles indiscriminately without consideration to the calibre of people that should be bestowed with chieftaincy titles knowing fully well that it is a respected institution?

Chieftaincy titles should be by merit,it not supposed to be whether you have money or not, so traditional rulers should copy what Ezeukwu has done by honouring an accomplished Professor of international repute,the Vice Chancellor,Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo, Benue State,Prof Innocent Ujah who assisted an Ezeleke son to obtain a university education, to study law, graduated as a law,employ him at the same university, so that the chieftaincy institution should have the respect it deserves.

So what is your take to your brother from Umuojameze Ezeleke,Chief Barr Iroham Ezerendu who recommended Professor Innocent Ujah from Idoma land in Benue who contributed in no small measure in making him what he is today through acquisition of quality education and employment opportunities thereby paving the way for an honour by their Eze G C Ibeakanma for recognition for this rare gesture ?

What I will advise is wherever you go,no matter who you meet,be nice,loyal to people wherever you are,, not the issue of tribe or not, like his chieftaincy title ” Nwanne dina Mba 1 of Ezeleke depicts,it is always another person that will help you not even your tribe or brother.so I urge the people of Ezeleke to be good ambassadors, outside their domain so that they can have people out their community, outside the state , outside Igbo Land that will aspire interest in them and  help them like the case of our brother,Barr Ezerendu.
I want to once again,commend Eze G C Ibeakanma for this recognition of a distinguished personality from Idoma land, Professor Chief Innocent Ujah,the Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Health Sciences Otukpo Benue State for the tremendous support he gave to our brother Barr Ezerendu in his education and upliftment in life, this is an honour well deserved.
