The All Progressive Grand Alliance Apga Local Government Chairmanship candidate,High Chief Victor Omenihu has expressed optimism of winning the forthcoming local Government election stating that he remains the best candidate to beat amongst those jostling for the sole ticket of Obingwa local government area of Abia State.
Apga Local Government Chairmanship candidate made this boast in an interview with journalists shortly after passing the screening exercise by the Abia State Independent Electoral Commission Absiec at Ogurube lay out, Umuahia.
The Obingwa born youthful politician said that the screening exercise was successful and seamless stressing that he decided to run in order to help in bringing good governance to the people of Obingwa LGA.
High Chief Victor Omenihu noted that he decided to choose Apga to run for the local government election because it was the only best organized party around, adding that his confidence of winning the forthcoming election stems from the fact that he is a grassroots politician who have garnered much needed experience in the political turf over the years.
On his expectations for the forthcoming November 2,2024,Apga LG Chairmanship candidate,High Chief Victor Omenihu noted that the electoral umpire has promised to conduct, a free,fair and transparent election that will usher in the people the masses and not imposition of any candidate.
To this end,Obingwa LGA Chairmanship candidate said he was not expecting anything to the contrary from the promises of the electoral umpire in the State.
High Chief Victor Omenihu noted it is the expectations of everybody that Governor Alex Otti who has insisted in following a due process that the success and failure which depends on the number one citizen of Abia State.
To this end,he noted that all eyes was on the State Governor of Abia State to know if he instruct the Absiec to do the right thing knowing fully well that 2027 is fast approaching to know if his mandate will be renew or not.
It could be recalled that Abia State Independent Electoral Commission Absiec has rolled out the time table for the conduct of the Local Government elections slated to hold on 2nd November,2024 across the seventeen local Government areas of Abia State.
All Progressive Grand Alliance Apga is one of the 15 registered politicial parties that have indicated interest in contesting for the said election.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Abia State Independent Electoral Commission Absiec, Professor George N Chima has promised to conduct, free fair and transparent election come November 2,2024 , adding that the Commission to deliver this all important state assignment
geared towards promoting good governance at the grassroots level.
