PDP is completely dead in Abia,South East,.. Joshua Ogbonna.,
The publisher of Rising Sun Newspapers and a chieftain of All Progressive Congress,APC ,Chief Sir Joshua Nnanyerem Ogbonna has said that there is no Peoples Democratic party in Abia State and South East adding that the once vibrant party is now completely dead in the State and the rest of South Eastern part of Nigeria.
Abia APC chieftain,Chief Ogbonna made this disclosure in Umuahia while answering questions with newsmakers.ng.com in Umuahia concerning some of the heavyweight politicians that recently dumped PDP to APC.
They included : Former Chief of Staff to Governor Ikpeazu ,Prof ACB Agbazuere,former Commissioner of Information,Barr Eze Chikamnario, former Asopadec Chairman,Barr Sam Nwogu, former Obingwa Local Government Chairman,Elder Godwin Nna,etc who all recently defected from PDP to APC.,
Ogbonna said that PDP performed abysmally especially with
the immediate past administration in the State adding that the coming of the party in Abia nay South East geopolitical zone was a disaster and is very regrettable.
He maintained that PDP died completely a long time ago in Abia because Abians in one accord rejected the party and went ahead to dislodge it during the 2023 general election after so many years of misrule .
According to the former Special Adviser to the former Governor,T A Orji on media and Documentations Chief sir Joshua Nnanyerem Ogbonna said” I don’t think anyone in God’s own state,Abia,will want to associate himself with PDP again especially with the poor performance of the party, the immediate past administration under Governor Okezie Ikpeazu performed abysmally low.
For example,they thought of building an Airport, Abians could not see any even up till today the people are awaiting to see the airport which is non existent,they thought of building Enyimba Economic City in Aba,but we didn’t see anything,it was a mirage, ,the same party turned out and converted our own Government House to a rented apartment .
Chief Ogbonna however charged Gov Alex Otti to looked into this matter and tell us among the former governors that converted Abia Government House to an rented apartment ,let the former Governor Okezie Ikpeazu tell Abians what was his worth in 2014 before he came to power in 2015 and left in 2023 .
Let Hon Erondu Junior Erondu, the member who is currently representing Obingwa West in the Abia House of Assembly, tell Abians his worth in 2014 to be able to compare and contrast his worth now .

He however extolled Governor Alex Otti for cleaning arrears owed Abia workers adding that he owed nine months arresrs since he came on board,has cleared all.
On Governor Alex Otti’s one year in office,Chief Sir Joshua Nnanyerem Ogbonna said he has seen what the labour party candidate has been able to achieve within one year, adding that some roads are being opened in Umuahia and Aba, for instance,Ossah – Okpara Square road, Umuahia,Port Harcourt road, Aba, expansion and reconstruction of federal road, Umuahia -Uzuakoli – Akara- Ohafia- Arochukwu roads.
Ogbonna added that even communal roads are also receiving attention,even his own Orpet Umuafai- Lodu within the state capital road are also receiving attention but pointed out that the contractor is practically not doing a good job, government needs to inspect the shoddy work the said contractor is doing in the said road.
But the governor also need to tell Abians the cost implications of the roads he is fixing,the calibre of contractors handling the road projects.
But the APC chieftain noted with satisfaction that Gov Otti has done well so far ,at least,he pays salary regularly.
